At Spring Bank Primary, we follow the new Leeds Agreed Syllabus (2020) for RE (updated for 2021).

All classes study Christianity and Islam with the addition of Sikhism and Judaism in KS2. Alongside these, pupils will look at stories, beliefs and practices from a wide range of cultures and religions as well as having the opportunity to discuss and explore their own views and feelings on moral, theological and philosophical issues,

Within each year group children study topics and make visits linked to specific religions in depth such as ‘What do Sikhs believe about commitment?’ and also topics linked to general questions, such as ‘What constitutes a good life?’. This gives Spring Bank pupils the chance to learn about the perspectives of many cultures and beliefs, as well as considering many viewpoints on the ‘big questions’ in RE.
