NEWSLETTER FRIDAY 13TH MAY 2022

I hope this finds you well and looking forward to a sunny day tomorrow!
It’s been a monumental week this week as our Year 6 children have done themselves proud with their resilience, determination, and amazing attitudes towards their SATs. This is the first time in three years that SATs have been undertaken and we couldn’t be prouder of them. All of them did their absolute best and came out of them feeling confident and proud of themselves. This was topped off by a brilliant trip to Heavenly Desserts and whilst I wasn’t able to go along the photos, I’ve seen of the desserts looked absolutely amazing! Well done Year 6 – you are all superstars!
To commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee we all felt that the focus for our school should be on celebrating community, coming together after all the lockdowns and being apart. We will have special assemblies in school during the last week to teach the children about the significance of the event. We will be having a school picnic on the last day of term to celebrate this. The children would bring a picnic tea to eat around 2:45pm like we do on party day, and we would have the children sitting in mixed groups (from Reception to Year 6) so that they can get to know each other even better. We will also be doing lots of fun activities for the children to take part in during class time. Chartwells will also be putting on a special Jubilee lunch that week for the children to enjoy and we will send some information out about that next week.
As mentioned last week we are going to do the colour run on the last day of term (July). So please look out for some more information on this in the coming weeks.
Walk to school week:
Please see the attached information leaflet about walk to school week which starts next week. If you could walk (when you normally drive) that would be absolutely amazing!
Whole school attendance – 89.09% (thank you for increasing this from last week but we still need to do lots more to get this back up over 90%)
Reception – 81.60%
Year 1 – 86.70%
Year 2 – 92.90%
Year 3 – 87.90%
Year 4 – 93.60%
Year 5 – 83.85%
Year 6 – 97.12%
Well done to Year 6 who have got Attendance Ted to look after this week!
I think that’s it for this week. Do check out our Twitter feed as I’ve shared lots of fabulous work from this weeks Star of the Week assembly (we really do have some fabulous artists in school!)
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
