Newsletter 4th February 2022

I hope everyone is doing ok and that you have enjoyed the slightly milder weather this week? I’ve moved away from having to double glove when outside!
We currently have 8 children who are still isolating due to Covid 19 and 4 members of staff. Thank you so much for your vigilance and understanding with the Covid situation in school, it is very appreciated by all the members of staff! The rate of infection appears to be slowing down in school which is good news but we would still ask that you are vigilant for symptoms of Covid 19 and if in any doubt please undertake a test before your child attends school.
It has also been lovely to welcome back our Reception children to school after the chicken pox outbreak that we had in Reception last week.
Our whole school attendance is currently very low, and I am hoping that this starts to head back towards more normal levels of attendance over the coming weeks. I completely appreciate and understand the reasons for absence over the past few weeks but if your child is well (and not displaying any symptoms of Covid 19) then it is vitally important that they attend school. Our whole school attendance for this week is 83.05%.
Many thanks to everyone for trying to be in school on time. There has definitely been a drop in the number of children who are arriving late to school which is great. It makes such a difference to the children when they are in school on time with their peers and ready to start learning straight after the register has been taken. Please do continue to ensure that your child/ren arrive punctually to school ready for register at 9.00am.
Plea for help:
We would love to rejuvenate our murals and artwork outside the school (mainly on the walls). If we have any creative/artistic parents who would be willing to lend themselves and some time we would love to talk to you about what we do to give a bit of life back to the outside areas. Please do get in touch with the school if this is something that you think you’d like to be involved in.
We are also putting a plea out for any outdoor toys that you no longer use or need for our Reception area (if possible we would love natural/wooden toys). If you would like some more information about the sorts of things that we are looking for please contact Miss Duly on firstname.lastname@example.org as she is leading on this for our Reception team.
I think that’s about it for this week. Thank you again for all of your support and understanding in these difficult times. Your children are fantastic and they do us all proud in school every day! It is, as ever, very lovely to celebrate them in our star of the week assembly and share the fantastic work that they have been doing through the week.
I hope you all manage to have a restful weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday,
