Newsletter - 25 June 2021

Friday, 25 June 2021

We’ve made to another Friday with bubbles intact. Thank you again for your ongoing understanding and support in helping to keep our school and our community as safe as it can be.

There are few things for the newsletter this week.

Teachers are very busy writing the end of year reports for our brilliant children at the moment and these will be coming home to parents on Wednesday 21st July 2021. There is as ever a comments slip on the report which you can fill in and return to the school should you choose to do so.

Sports Days:

We are planning for mini sports days to take place week commencing 12th July. Each class will either have a morning session or an afternoon session and we will be inviting 1 family member per child to the event as we have to keep the numbers of spectators to 30 or below for outdoor activities at the moment. Teachers will be in touch over the next week to let you know which session each class has. We will be asking parents/carers to sign in using the school Covid QR code so please do, if possible, have the NHS covid app on your phone so that this can be scanned in. These will be weather dependent and if we have to cancel an event due to bad weather we will do our best to re-schedule this but we can’t guarantee it.

Summer fair:

This planned for Saturday 24th July and will go ahead if restrictions are lifted on 19th July. If you would like to get involved with this please do contact the PTA to discuss this. We are really hoping to be able to hold it this year as it is always lots of fun and raises money for the school which we use to provide exciting enrichment opportunities for all of our children.

Spring Road and traffic:

As I’m sure you’re no doubt already aware there are currently some roadworks going on at the bottom of Spring Road (towards Cardigan Lane). Some of the on road parking spaces have blocked off and the footpath partially blocked. Please do take extra care if you’re driving/parking down here and we have talked to all the children about being safe on the roads around school today.

PTA news:

The PTA are running a Spring Bank Quiz at HEART (either virtually or in the marquee) and there is a poster attached to the newsletter with more information! I’m sure this will be a fun event and a great way to raise some money for our brilliant school PTA.

HEART in Headingley are running Wonder Day again this year on Saturday 31st July and there is a competition for the children to enter (details of this are attached to the newsletter). The children can bring their competition entries into school and we will then get these to HEART ahead of Wonder Day.

I think that’s about if for this week! Don’t forget that there is surge testing going on this week at Woodhouse Moor as rates are particularly high in Headingley at the moment.

I hope you all manage to have a good weekend,

Take care and stay safe

Sarah xx
