Newsletter 24th September 2021
Friday, 24 September 2021
I hope that you are all doing well and that the week has been kind to you? We’ve had another great week at Spring Bank and as ever the children continue to wow us with their brilliant work and attitudes towards school.
Star of the week this morning was lovely – do check out our Twitter feed (if you haven’t already) at @bank_primary as there are lots of photos of the work that the children have done this week. It was great being able to have the children back in the hall for ‘in person’ assemblies too this week – and I think they enjoyed them nearly as much as we did!
A few pieces of information from me this week:
Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)
RSE is now a statutory part of our school curriculum and the attached link will take you to the website page where you will find out what we are teaching in each year group throughout this academic year. It also explains what the statutory requirements are for schools. If you have any questions about this please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We have had confirmation of a positive PCR test in school and I have attached a letter for your information to this newsletter. As ever if your child develops ANY covid 19 symptoms please do not bring them into school until you have sought a PCR test and this has come back negative. It is so important that we keep our school and community as safe as possible and we can only do this with your ongoing support and cooperation.
These are coming up in the week commencing the 13th October 2021. More information about how these will be held will be sent out nearer the time in terms of booking appointments etc.
PARENTS’ CONSULTATION TO HELP CREATE A NEW NATURE AREA AT SCHOOL
The Spring Bank PTA and school has started an exciting project to create a new nature area and outdoor learning space in an unused part of our school grounds.
The plan is for the area to be used by children throughout the school for both learning and extra curricular activities. We think it could be a really fantastic space for our children to enjoy.
The area is the space around and below the car park (including a fenced off old pond) and also the space below and to the far side of the pitch. This includes a steep grass slope and a flat area with some mature trees.
We are at an early stage and are working with local designers Lemon Balm to create the best possible plan for the space. It’s really important we get as much involvement as possible from parents, children and staff so we are kickstarting the project with a consultation.
Please could you follow this link and complete the online consultation? We want to get as many views and responses as possible. It will only take a few minutes!
Spring Bank PTA
PS As the project develops there will be more opportunities for everyone to get involved, but you can also find out more by attending our regular PTA meetings and joining our friendly Facebook group.
We would love you to get involved!
I think that’s it for this week. As ever many thanks for your ongoing support it is appreciated by all of us. I hope that you all manage to have a good weekend whatever you are doing,
