NEWSLETTER 22ND OCTOBER 2021

Friday, 22 October 2021

Hello

I hope that you’re all doing ok and looking forward to half term? Many thanks for all your support and understanding this half term. It has certainly been a busy one and the children have coped brilliantly with being back.

Parent Consultations

Many thanks to all of you who attended (either in person or via phone). These went really well and it was lovely to be able to share with you how your child/ren are doing at school

Covid 19

We have had four confirmed cases of Covid 19 in Year 6. With this in mind please do be vigilant to the symptoms (and also to be aware that children are often asymptomatic) and if you are in any doubt then please do get your child/ren tested. When we return to school after half term if again your child/ren is displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 please don’t send them to school until you have obtained a negative PCR test result.

Flu Vaccines

These are booked in for 19th November 2021.

Clubs

Some of our clubs will be finishing after half term due to lack of daylight. However we will be starting a KS2 dance club on Wednesday after school and children will be informed shortly if they have got a place at this club. We will keep parents informed and up to date of any new clubs/changes to clubs as and when they start.

Healthy Lunches

Just another reminder about healthy packed lunches. Please don’t send your child in with juice/flavoured water, sweets or lots of chocolate, crisps etc. We do promote healthy packed lunches at school and these are vital to give children the energy they need to continue learning.

Mrs Ryan

Today is Mrs Ryan’s last day before she goes on maternity leave to have her second baby. I’m sure that you will join me in wishing her lots of luck and happiness with baby number two. Miss Houldsworth will be taking over as interim SENDCo whilst Mrs Ryan is off.

Winter Fair

We have a provisional date booked in for Saturday 11th December (subject to there being no spikes of Covid 19 in school and no national restrictions for gatherings in place). If you would like to get involved with this please contact a member of the PTA as I know that they will be very grateful for any help and support that can be offered.

Internet safety

Hopefully you all saw my email earlier in the week about Squid Games. This is just a reminder to be vigilant to what your children are watching/playing particularly over half term. There is lots of guidance about internet safety on our school website if you would like further information about this.

That’s it for this week. Wishing you all a safe and happy half term and we are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday 1st November 2021.

Take care

Sarah xx
