NEWSLETTER 18TH MARCH 2022

Friday, 18 March 2022

Hello

I hope this finds you all well and that you have been enjoyed the very gorgeous weather we’ve had over the past couple of days – let’s hope it continues over the weekend!

Attendance and punctuality:

Whole school attendance this week: 94.67%

Reception: 96.25%

Year 1: 87.78%

Year 2: 95.38%

Year 3: 92.76%

Year 4: 97.74%

Year 5: 98.13%

Year 6: 93.85%

We are still having to chase some families for reasons for absence when their child/ren is not in school. Please ensure that you call school and leave a voice message or a message on parentmail if your child is going to be absent from school. This is vitally important so that we know where your child is. If we don’t hear from families by midday then we will conduct a home visit to ensure that they are ok – this is following our safeguarding procedures. Our office staff and learning mentor also spend a lot of their time having to repeat call families when a child hasn’t arrived at school.

Upcoming dates:

Friday 25th March Cake sale after school to raise money for Ukraine.

Cake sale for Ukraine

We would like to raise money to help families in Ukraine and we thought (with the help of a fabulous mum) that a cake sale would be a great way to raise some money. We are going to hold this a week today and have one for KS1 and one for KS2. We are asking our families to bring in cakes on Friday morning (please avoid nuts!) so that these can be sold after school. All money raised will go to charities supporting the Ukraine.

Clubs:

If there are any parents who would be interested in coming forwards to run a club (and have a particular specialism) please do let me know so that we can have a look at this and see how we could facilitate this at school (checks and DBS would need to be undertaken).

Parent Governor:

Many thanks for all your votes. These will be counted on Monday and I will notify you of the results early next week.

Car Parking:

I am aware that there have been some issues this week with cars and car parking on Spring Road and that these have been reported. Please continue to be vigilant when parking/driving down Spring Road as it does get exceptionally busy at the end of the school day. Please don’t park in the disabled bay outside school unless you are entitled to. Your cooperation with all of this, is as ever very much appreciated.

End of the day:

Could I ask please that parents don’t let their children play on the all weather pitch straight after school as this is either being used by out of school club or an after school club. Many thanks.

Music payments:

If you haven’t yet paid for music lessons that your child is receiving at school please do so as if these aren’t paid then we won’t be able to continue providing the venue for music lessons to take place. If you are unsure about this please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Prattent (our music lead) or Emma Milner to discuss this.

I think that is it for this week. I hope you all have a very lovely and well deserved half term!

Take care

Sarah xxx
