Newsletter 10th December 2021

Friday, 10 December 2021

Hello

I hope this finds you all well? We’ve made it to the end of another week and have just one week to go before we break up for the holidays!

Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who has come to one of our mini performances this week. The children have loved performing to you and we are very grateful to all our parents and families for following our school rules about wearing face coverings and no filming/photographs during the performances.

Last week of term:

We have a busy week next week at school. There are the remaining class performances, the Christmas lunch on Wednesday (additional information has been sent out about this and this is also set up on ParentMail). Our class parties are also taking place next Thursday. Teachers will be sending out class information about this but please do not send anything in containing nuts or traces of nuts and no fizzy pop. We break up at 3.30pm on Friday 17th December.

Attendance and punctuality:

Whole school attendance for this week is 91.35%. As a school we aim for 96.5% so we are well below our target at the moment.

Reception:         91.32%

Year 1:                85.09%

Year 2:                94.41%

Year 3:                89.59%

Year 4:                93.62%

Year 5:                91.62%

Year 6:                94.12%

Well done to Year 2 who have retained Attendance Ted this week with 94.41%.

This week we have had a total of 34 children late to school and this equates to 294 minutes of lates which is 4 hours and 54 minutes of lost learning this week.

Road safety:

I’ve had a couple of parents raise concerns about cars on Spring Road and how they are being driven at the end of the day with a car stopping in the middle of the road for no apparent reason. I appreciate that this may well not be by parents of our school, however I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that is very busy during pick up so please do drive carefully and slowly on Spring Road. Many thanks for your understanding!

Winter Fair:

This takes place tomorrow from 12.00pm – 2.00pm at school. There are going to be lots of stalls, some games, Santa’s grotto, food and a fabulous raffle! We really hope that you can attend with your families and support our brilliant PTA. All monies raised will help the children at Spring Bank enjoy trips, visits and other enriching activities at school. If you are attending please ensure that you wear a face covering at all times whilst indoors in line with Government guidance.

I think that’s it from me for this week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I also hope to see lots of you tomorrow at the Winter Fair!

Take care

Sarah xx
