Celebration Assembly 09.11.18

A sublime Celebration Assembly was had today, made all the more special by the attendance of the Year One parents – and what a turn out from them I’d like to add! I’m sure they’ll have been glad that they came along this Friday morning as we had a multitude of stars, with awards for countless displays of good work and extra-curricular excellence.

First up, our special guest Annette, an Oxfam representative, presented our Oxfam writing competition winners with their certificates. Well done to all those who entered!

Then it was back over to Mrs. Hawes to present our usual Stars of the Week. Reception had been showing their Literacy prowess with some independent writing and phonics; Year One had been displaying some brilliant work across the board including some impressive writing about autumn and Year Two had done some hilarious letters linked to their ‘When the Colours Decided to Quit’ book. In KS2, there were excellent clay tiles from the whole of Year 6, impressive Maths from Y5 and some teamwork in Maths from Year Four, whilst Year Three had been honing their debating skills.

We finished with a running medal, a tennis trophy and even a ‘Best Halloween Costume’ Trophy, just to top of the assembly.

Very well done to everyone who got an award or certificate this week, keep up the good work and don’t forget this term’s key value: trust.
