Year 5 Half Term 1 Newsletter
Dear parents,
Welcome to Year 5! I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable summer break. This letter will just outline some of the important information you may need this year, and give you an idea of the kinds of things we will be learning about. I have attached the Y5 long term plan to give you some idea of the topics your child will be working on.
I will teach the class most of the time; Elena will teach Art and Becky will teach Circle Time on Monday afternoons and Mrs Mills will teach RE/French and Music on Tuesday afternoons.
PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays, so it would be helpful if you could ensure that your child has the correct kit in school for those days. (White t-shirt, black or navy shorts, pumps for indoor PE, trainers for outside – jumper and tracksuit bottoms for cold weather outside PE).
Homework will continue to be set every other Thursday (starting this Thursday), to be handed in 10 days later on Mondays.
We have a trip coming up on Thursday 4th October to Nell Bank in Ilkley, where we will be learning about rivers (more information soon). Allotment visits will continue for the next few weeks.
