School Council
Our school council has two representatives, one boy and one girl, from all classes from Y1-Y6 voted annually by the class. In our school corridor the School Council Noticeboard has pictures of the year’s councillors and minutes of the last meeting. All children are encouraged to stand for election as councillors during their time at our school. Class councils take place before each School Council meeting to enable our councillors to bring the “pupil voice” to the council. Meetings are supported by Miss Milburn our Learning Mentor. For 2016-2017 our School Councillors are:
Year 1 – Matten and Kaelya
Year 2 – Daisy and Gabriel
Year 3 – Estelle and Rishi
Year 4 – Sylvie and Albert
Year 5 – Charlotte and Eddie
Year 6 – Mally, George and Polly
School Council Meeting 1:
We agreed our agenda for this year.
The work of the School Council 2015-2016
Last year we were the school councilors representing Year 5. We did a survey with Carillion to try to improve our school’s food, changing the bread and introducing a salad bar. We also did a behaviour and safety survey. Our favourite thing that we did last year was the Year 4 and 5 councilors went to Leeds University and met lots of other school councilors from different schools. We also discussed the Leeds Youth Budget and voted for kids’activities, and went to a cafe for lunch and had lots of fun while we were there!
