Spring Bank Primary School

Go Orange Day!

Today, Friday 2nd February, Spring Bank have taken part in the nationwide ‘Go Orange Day’. Staff and students have been sporting their orange shirts, scarves, hats, crowns, socks and even hair to raise money and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy UK charity.

It’s been a great week overall with the school taking a focus on increasing awareness and understanding of Muscular Dystrophy. We had workshops running throughout Tuesday which saw our students adding weights to their legs whilst playing football, sprinting and playing hopscotch all to gain an insight into what it is like to have Muscular Dystrophy and how difficult and tiring it can be.

In today’s assembly, Laura kindly joined us from Muscular Dystrophy UK to talk about the condition and to show us a video on ‘Go Orange Day’, whilst prizes were also awarded to the winners of our fundraising Go Orange Game!

It has been a great week that has helped us all to learn a lot about Muscular Dystrophy and has really increased awareness on the condition whilst raising lots of money for the charity – thanks to everyone for wearing orange today and bringing in their money to help a great cause!
