Health and Sports Week Roundup!

Last week staff and students alike got the chance to improve their sports skills and try something new, and we all had a fantastic time! Coaches inspired us with their skill and wisdom showing us how to up our game in American football, basketball, skipping, martial arts and football! We also learnt some key first aid skills, including ringing an ambulance, putting someone in the recovery position and helping someone who is choking. Mr Wrankmore, as our fabulous P.E. co-ordinator, not only arranged for outside inspiration to come to us, but organised several friendly football and rounders matches between our own players from Years 3 and 4, Years 4 and 5 and Years 5 and 6, as well as running the usual after school sports clubs. Meanwhile, after school Miss Milburn and Miss Naylor cooked a selection of healthy recipes with parents and children to help everyone stay fueled throughout the active week. The double finale on Thursday and Friday, being Key Stage 1 and 2 sports day and the much anticipated dance competition, kept all our eyes on the prize, whether we were chasing medals, stickers or glory!

An incredibly large thank you to all involved from the PTA selling strawberries on sports day to the dance competition judging panel, and a massive thank you to Mr Wrankmore for all his hard work and epic organisation throughout the week!
