Year 2 have been working with friend of Spring Bank and local poet James Nash as part of their Fire, Fire topic and also as part of Headingley Literature Festival. They created their very own dragon poem with James’ expert guidance and the quality was excellent, especially their fantastic vocabulary. All of the children read either their favourite lines or their poem to parents, carers and governors in a fabulous celebration assembly – thank you to all those who came to join us. You can see a wonderful description of our assembly on the Headingley Literature blog web page (link below). Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed working with James and have been writing poems of their own and bringing them in to share ever since!
